Guwahati, August 6 (MExN): The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has reported a steady increase in freight unloading for July, with 1,056 freight-carrying rakes unloaded during the month.
These rakes transported a variety of goods, including FCI rice, sugar, salt, edible oil, food grains, fertiliser, cement, coal, vegetables, automobiles, and other items, which were distributed across different goods sheds within NFR's jurisdiction, stated an official release.
The freight rakes unloading included 593 in Assam, 72 in Tripura, 23 in Nagaland 23, 11 in Arunachal Pradesh 11, 9 in Mizoram and 2 in Manipur.
Additionally, West Bengal and Bihar saw unloading of 191 and 155 freight rakes respectively, added the press release from the NFR CPRO.
Advanced terminal handling facilities, introduction of more goods sheds for customers and other stakeholders as well as continuous monitoring at all levels has also resulted in increased unloading efficiency, it added.
