
Guwahati, June 9 (MExN): The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has decided to enhance the capacity of a short distance passenger train running between New Bongaigaon and Guwahati (Manas Rhino Passenger Train) by adding more coaches.
Two general second-class coaches will be attached to existing coaches on temporary basis for a period of two months with effect from June 10, informed a press release issued by the CPRO, NFR. From Friday onwards, Train No. 05801/05802 New Bongaigaon – Guwahati – New Bongaigaon passenger will run with six general second-class coaches instead of present four such coaches, it said.
Accordingly, the train will now have 24 coaches consisting of 16 second-class day coach with sitting accommodation, six general second-class coaches and two luggage-cum-brake vans, the release said. Augmentation of coaches will help in manage to clear extra rush of passengers to and from Guwahati and this would be beneficial for commuters, particularly office goers, it added.
