Maligaon, September 6 (MExN): In a bid to advance cleanliness and hygiene across India, Indian Railways is set to launch the Swachhata Hi Seva 2024 campaign from September 14 to October 1. This year’s campaign will revolve around the theme 'SwabhavSwachhata - Sanskaar Swachhata,' culminating in the Swachh Bharat Diwas celebration on October 2, marking a decade since the Swachh Bharat Mission's inception.
The campaign is aimed at raising awareness about maintaining proper hygiene, preventing open defecation, and ensuring cleanliness at stations and railway tracks. It will focus on three key pillars: Swachhata ki Bhagidaari, Sampoorna Swachhata, and Safai Mitra Suraksha Shivirs.
Throughout the fortnight, the campaign will feature mass cleanliness drives at workplaces, railway tracks, and station premises, targeting both railway employees and passengers. Special recognition will be given to Safai Mitras, sanitation workers, and other contributors to the program. Additionally, medical camps, distribution of safety PPEs and medical equipment, and sensitization workshops on health and well-being will be organized as part of this comprehensive initiative.
