NFR to observe vigilance awareness week

MALIGAON, OCTOBER 27 (MExN): The Northeast Frontier Railway (NF Railway) is set to observe Vigilance Awareness Week from October 28 to November 3 across all its divisions, workshops, and construction units. This year’s theme, “Culture of Integrity for Nation's Prosperity,” underscores the commitment to fostering transparency and eradicating corruption.

In a press statement, Chief Public Relations Officer Kapinjal Kishore Sharma informed that the week will commence with an oath administered by Chetan Kumar Shrivastava, General Manager of NF Railway, and Arun Kumar Chaudhary, General Manager of NF Railway (Construction), at their respective offices in Maligaon. This initiative aims to promote integrity and accountability within the railway system and beyond. Throughout the week, a series of programs will be held to raise awareness among railway employees and the general public. Interactive sessions involving departmental officers at NF Railway Headquarters and various divisions will focus on systemic improvements. Additionally, a “Sangosthi” (meeting) will engage higher officials in discussions on the theme.

To involve the community, essay writing, drawing, and painting competitions will be hosted at local schools, including Railway Higher Secondary, Netaji Vidyapeeth Higher Secondary, and KV Maligaon, as well as the Zonal Railway Training Institute in Alipurduar. An inter-college debate on the same theme is scheduled for October 30 at Pragjyotish College, Guwahati. Moreover, railway employees and members of Bharat Scouts and Guides will perform a street play to highlight the adverse effects of corruption. A vigilance bulletin will be published, and a Walkathon will be organized to further spread awareness.

NF Railway's observance of Vigilance Awareness Week aims not only to encourage integrity within its operations but also to inspire a broader commitment to transparency throughout society.
