NFR undertake initiatives to improve customer interface

Maligaon, June 16 (MExN): NF Railway has been taking several initiatives to improve the freight transportation and provide better customer interface. Among such initiatives, few more stations have been opened for handling of both inward and outward goods traffic during the month of May, 2023 to facilitate easier transportation of various goods by customer.

To improve customer interface and augment freight revenue, Dalgaon station under Alipurduar division is opened for handling of outward all goods traffic except coal, POL, livestock, explosive and crane consignment w.e.f. May 12. Jagiroad station under Lumding division is opened for handling of outward all goods traffic including coal except POL, explosive, livestock and crane consignment w.e.f. May 15. Moreover, New Harangajao station under Lumding division is re-opened for handling of outward stone chips consignment w.e.f. May 22. In addition, Nepal Custom Yard of Nepal under Katihar division is opened for handling of all types of inward and outward goods traffic except coal, POL, livestock and explosive w.e.f. May 27.

Special train between Guwahati & Bengaluru

NFR has decided to run one way special train between Guwahati and SMVT Bengaluru to clear the extra rush of passengers. The special train will run for a single trip on June 18.

Accordingly, special train No. 05698 (Guwahati-SMVT Bengaluru) will depart from Guwahati at 23:10 hours on June 18 (Sunday). The special train will run via Rangiya, New Bongaigaon, New Coochbehar, New Jalpaiguri, Kishanganj, Katihar, Barauni Jn., Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Jn., Prayagraj Chheoki, Jabalpur, Nagpur, Vijayawada Jn., Katpadi Jn. stations to reach SMVT Bengaluru at 15:30 hours on June 21(Wednesday). 

The special train will consist of 18 coaches. There will be AC 3 tier, sleeper class and second seating coaches. Wait listed passengers of other trains running in this route can avail the facility. This was stated in a press release issue by Sabyasachi De, Chief Public Relations Officer, NFR.
