Maligaon, July 14 (MExN): With the target to maintain proper condition of railway tracks that helps providing a safe and secured train journey to rail passengers with better comfort, NF Railway has undertaken several track renewal works and other track safety measures during June 2023.

In a press release, Sabyasachi De, Chief Public Relations Officer, NFR stated that during June 2023, Through Sleeper Renewal of 11.42 Track Kilometre was done, thus achieving a cumulative progress of 30.45 Track Kilometre. The Through Turnout Renewals of 5.25 equivalent sets was also done thereby making a cumulative progress of 22.25 sets in the month of June, 2023. 

Moreover, 1730.92 kilometres of track have been tested by USFD (Ultra Sonic Flaw Detection) technique during the month of June, 2023. USFD technique is carried out to detect flaws like cracks and timely removal of defective rails for safety reasons. Also, 03 numbers of ESP (Engineering Scale Plan) and 18 numbers of Signal & Telecommunication plans has been approved during the month of June, 2023.

Welding of 342 numbers of rail joints has been done by using Flash Butt welding method, thus making the total cumulative progress upto 2405 numbers. Apart from that, 684 signaling batteries of various capacities have been replaced over NF Railway during this period.
