NFR’s freight loading increase to 8.3 million tonne

Guwahati, February 11 (MExN): With the increase in economic activities within the region, the Northeast Frontier Railway’s (NFR) freight loading capacity reported an increase of 8.351 million tonne during the current financial period from April 2023 to January 2024. 
Besides, during the month of January 2024, 0.815 million tonne of loading was registered of various commodities, stated a press release from  Sabyasachi De, NFR’s Chief Public Relations Officer.

Accordingly in the same period, container & P.O. loading registered progress by a good margin, with few other miscellaneous commodities that registered an increase in comparison to the previous year, it said. 

Further, container loading increased by 41.7% and loading of P.O.L items increased by 28.4 and loading of fertilizers also registered an increased by 5% and ballast by 16.2% as compared to the last financial year.

“NFR is working dedicatedly round the clock to serve its customer and ensure essential commodities reach end users in time,” the release added.
