Nagaland Gorkha Association handed over a relief fund of Rs 1.80 lakh to the Konyak Union Kohima for the victims of the Mon disaster at a formal ceremony on September 12.
Kohima, September 13 (MExN): The Nagaland Gorkha Association (NGA) on Saturday handed over a relief fund of Rs 1.80 lakh to the Konyak Union Kohima for the victims of the Mon disaster, at a formal ceremony held at the Gorkha Public Panchayat Office in Kohima.
NGA President Nobin Pradhan in a press release stated that the relief fund was collected by the NGA from its federating units across Nagaland specifically for the victims of the Mon disaster.
The amount was handed over to Khongjah Konyak, President, Konyak Union Kohima, in the presence of office bearers of both organisations.
The ceremony was chaired by PK Thapa, General Secretary, NGA. Addressing the gathering, NGA President Nobin Pradhan and Konyak Union Kohima President Khongjah Konyak spoke on the occasion.
Santu Thapa, President, Gorkha Public Panchayat Kohima (GPPK), delivered the welcome address, while Samir Thapa, General Secretary, Chandmari Gorkha Union, proposed the vote of thanks.
