
Kohima, November 26 (MExN): The Governor of Assam and Nagaland, Prof Jagdish Mukhi has extended Ngada greetings to the people of Nagaland especially to Rengma brothers and sisters.
“Ngada is a post-harvest festival and a time of thanksgiving. Ngada has the beautiful underlying essence of purity, forgiveness, brotherhood and unity. Our youths need to carry forward these significant cultural legacies. On this auspicious occasion, I wish everybody good health, peace and prosperity. God bless you all!” the Governor stated.
The NSCN/GPRN (Akato Chophi) has conveyed Ngada festival greetings. In a press note, MIP NSCN/GPRN (Akato Chophi) stated that Ngada is a post harvest festival and is celebrated as a sign of thanksgiving and a time for rejoicing which also marks the end of the agricultural year. The village high priest called 'Phensengu' heralds the beginning of the festival, which is observed with feastings, singings, dancing and other cultural activities.
“May the spirit of this Ngada festival be upon our Rengma Naga brothers and sisters and may it bring them, all the good things in life including prosperity, wealth, health and happiness,” it added.
