Dimapur, June 20 (MExN): Nagaland GB Federation (NGBF) has expressed “utmost resentment and anguish” over the ambush carried out by NSCN (K) in Aboi, Mon district on June 17. In the incident, two Assam Rifles personnel, including a Naga jawan, were killed and some others were injured.
The Nagaland GBs condemn such “sadistic act” regardless of public appeals for peace and reconciliation, asserted a statement from NGBF Media Cell.
Quoting the bible, “For everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven,” the Federation expressed belief that “our Naga political leaders under any organization or group understand the gravity of the people’s desire for peace at this juncture.”
Many organizations, it pointed out, have expressed their opinion regarding the ongoing Naga peace negotiation with GOI and everyone is praying hard for the new dawn of the day “where Nagas could live a life with a mind without fear.”
The Federation urged upon the Indian security and the Naga political groups to avoid any form of provocative situation and confrontation under any circumstances.
It also appealed to the NSCN (K) to shun violence and join the peace process, to take part in negotiation with the GOI, and join hands together and march towards era of peace and progress.
Meanwhile, NGBF conveyed condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for speedy recovery of the injured.
