Dimapur, February 7 (MExN): The Nagaland GB Federation today stated that “it is of great importance that the GBs should maintain his status and keep free from any kind of obligations beyond our sanctity. Therefore, as the apex GBs organization, the NGBF discourages any GBs actively involving in political arena by means of contesting in election or holding any post in political party.” The Federation has reminded to all the GBs to uphold its responsibilities as “a guardian of Customary Laws and protects the traditional rights of the Nagas by withstanding any forces and uprightly stand even in trial period.” The NGBF Media Cell in a press release stated that it is the village chiefs/GBs that hold great responsibility and authority when it comes to decision making and dispensing justice for the well being of its people. “If such situations do arise, it is advised kindly to strip off from post of any GB’s unit or District level organizations,” the Nagaland GB Federation stated.
