Dimapur, October 22 (MExN): The Nagaland Gaon Bura (village chief) Federation (NGBF) expressed confidence over the ongoing development on reconciliation and peace process initiated by Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR).
The Federation in a press release issued by its Media Cell stated that the formation of September Joint Accordant led to an agreement to form the Council of Naga Relationships and Cooperation (CNRC). Forming the platform to explore, at the earliest, realistic ways for Nagas to move forward on the basis of Naga historical and political rights is the most practical and pragmatic move.
“This Initiative is really a response to people's yearning for reconciliation and unity. It is worth appreciating the maturity shown both by our Naga political negotiating parties,” NGBF stated.
The federation added that the NGBF’s main concern has been unity and peace amongst “our Naga brethren.”
It said, “During the factional confrontation, we had organized peace initiative by forming GB &DB joint forum and successfully brought peace amongst our Naga political groups. Till date both the parties has restrained themselves and shunned violence on the principle of reconciliation and peace.”
“We appeal to all the people to support the movement with maximum cooperation. When we, the Nagas, are united, no forces on earth can destroy our aspirations. The NGBF shall remain in prayers for the mission ahead of us,” it added.
