Ngozübomi Baptist Church marks 75 years of faith and service

G Ikuto Zhimomi addresses the gathering during the Platinum Jubilee celebration programme of the Ngozübomi Baptist Church on January 18.

Ngozübomi, January 18 (MExN): Advisor to the Land Resources Department, Government of Nagaland, G Ikuto Zhimomi on January 18 graced the 75th Platinum Jubilee celebration of the Ngozübomi Baptist Church, marking a significant milestone of 75 years of faith, community and service.

Addressing the congregation, Zhimomi said the concept of Jubilee goes beyond organisational mandates or guidelines laid down by bodies such as the Southern Angami Baptist Church (SBAK), Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC), Council of Baptist Churches in North East India (CBCNEI) or the World Baptist Convention. He emphasised that Jubilee is fundamentally a divine promise rooted in the Scriptures, underscoring its deep spiritual significance.

“Jubilee is not merely a set of rules or commands; it is a sacred promise from God,” Zhimomi said, adding that the occasion should be observed in holiness and faith, reflecting a collective commitment to biblical teachings.

Highlighting the profound meaning of Jubilee, he described it as a time of liberation, rest, restoration and peace. He said the 75-year journey of the Ngozübomi Baptist Church symbolises not only a milestone in its existence but also maturity in Christ, growth in faith and a deeper understanding of God.

Zhimomi also conveyed his heartfelt wishes to the congregation, praying that God Almighty would grant happiness, love, longevity and blessed generations through the jubilee celebration.

The programme was attended by church leaders, community members and well-wishers, who gathered to honour the legacy and continued witness of the Ngozübomi Baptist Church.
