NGRC-I CU appeals to contractors

Dimapur, Aug 1 (MExN): The Nagaland Registered Class I Contractors’ Union (NGRC-I CU) today appealed to all the Class I Registered Contractors not to pay the enhanced security deposits with the government of Nagaland and to keep the new rules of the PWD Nagaland rules in abeyance.

A press release issued by NGRC-I CU President KC Angami and General Secretary, L Pukhato Shohe said that the criteria regarding the qualification for registration of different category of contractors is too complicated, beyond the grasp and ‘dismay’ to many of the present Class-I Registered Contractor. 

The Nagaland state government in accordance to the Rules 2006 for Registration of contractors under woks and Housing Department (Works Branch) notified the contractors to renew their registration from the office of the Chief Engineer (PWD) within this October.      

“the Nagaland Government Registered Class-I Contractors’ Union (NGRC –I CU) urged every Class-I Registered Contractors not to pay the enhanced security deposit with the Government for Class-I category and to keep the new rules into abeyance until further negotiations with the concerned authourity by the Union for the interest of the public in general and the contractors in particular,” stated the release.
