Longleng, June 20 (MExN): In view of the partial clearance of the landslide debris on National Highway H-702, movement of light motor vehicles (LMV) will be allowed to pass through Changtongya-Longleng stretch from 6AM- 6PM from June 21.
However, the movement of heavy vehicles along the stretch will remain restricted until further notice, informed a DIPR report. The drivers of LMVs, meanwhile, were advised to exercise utmost caution while passing through the affected area and avoid taking this route at the time of bad weather/foggy conditions/heavy rainfall.
Further, they are advised not to halt stop or park their vehicles in and around the landslide affected areas, the report added.
On June 13, Deputy Commissioner Longleng has informed that all forms of vehicular and public movement shall remain suspended along the aforementioned stretch till further order to clear the obstructing soil & rock debris resulting from rock-slide affecting the traffic movement about 2 km from Changtongya towards Longleng along NH-702.
Accordingly, all travellers and vehicles were advised to take the alternate route of Logleng-Chingtok (IR camp)-Netnyu village-Merangkong.
