NH Landslide cleared; vehicles free to ply

Dimapur, November 4 (MExN): The landslide that occurred on the National Highway between Chumukedima and Kukidolong was cleared Sunday night around 8:00 pm. Traffic between Dimapur and Kohima can now ply though with a word of caution. “Passengers can now ply the road but should be careful in the 100 meters stretch where the landslide occurred,” informed Imraan, site engineer of the NHIDCL. The landslide, near Chumukedima Check Gate, occurred on October 30 when lose boulders and stones tumbled down due to blasting and cutting of the steep hills for widening the National Highway. It took the NHIDCL contractor, Ramky ECI (JV), four days to clear the landslide. They will now continue the road widening works.
