
Kohima, October 3 (MExN): The Poor Patient Fund Committee, NHAK (PPFC, NHAK) on Tuesday informed that the Patient Attendant Guest House, NHAK which was constructed and donated by Kohima Ao Baptist Arogo (KABA) will be available for attendants of the patients at a nominal rate.
Initially the guest house was used to accommodate Covid-19 frontline health-workers.
PPFC, NHAK Convenor, Dr Pfukrolo Koza and Co-Convenor Dr N Azo Louis Kharutso in a press release appreciated the NHAK, Managing Director and Medical Superintendent for giving the management to them. The fund which is generated from the guest house will be purely used for the needy patients, it stated.
The PPFC, NHAK has been working to provide financial assistance to the poor and needy patients for treatment at NHAK, and are provided on the recommendation of the treating doctors on assessment of the patient’s needs. In the year 2023 alone, 145 needy patients were benefited by the financial assistance. Even apart from availing various govt. subsidies like Ayushman Bharat (PM-JAY), CM insurance scheme etc by the patients, this assistance are required to meet their various needs and expenses during their hospital stay. These funds are received through charitable generous donations from several individuals and families, NGOs, Churches, Unions and Associations.
“With many patients requiring assistance and to cover more individuals needing help, the committee encourages the continuous support from the generous donors, general public and civil societies; which will enable help to more of such needy patients,” PPFC, NHAK added.
