Kohima, September 10 (MExN): The 15th General Session of the Nagaland Home Guards’ Service Association (NHGSA) was held today at Multi Purpose Building, Central Training Institute (CTI) Toluvi, Dimapur.
Gracing the session as the special guest, Aotemsu, Commandant General, Home Guards, Civil Defence& SDRF lauded the significant achievements accomplished by the Association over the years.
He encouraged all members to continue building on the Association’s proud legacy-acknowledging both the triumphs and the hardships faced.
He reiterated that the Association serves as a crucial platform for every member’s concerns to be heard at decision-making levels.
Also addressing the session, NHGSA advisor Medozhalie Pienyu, Deputy Commandant General, HG, CD & SDRF, posed thoughtful reflections, reminding members to balance awareness of their rights with a strong sense of duty, integrity and accountability.
He motivated the members to sustain their tradition of selfless service and uphold their responsibility to the community at all times.
Earlier, NHGSA president Avinuo reflected on how NHGSA was established in 2000 and came into formal existence in 2002, emphasizing the Association’s commitment to achieving professional excellence through a culture of dedication and discipline.
Avinuo highlighted the continued efforts of the NHGSA toward uplifting its standards and enhancing its role in service to the community.
Meanwhile, NHGSA also elected a new team of office bearers led by Wopenthung Kikon, District Commandant, Kohima as president to lead the Association, carrying forward the legacy of committed leadership and dedicated service.
The 15th General Session underscored NHGSA’s ongoing pursuit of excellence, reaffirmed its principle of selfless service, and marked a new chapter with the appointment of its new president.
