
Kohima, March 18 (MExN): The National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) started repair work along the stretch of NH-29 on March 18.
Responding to the ultimatum, NHIDCL mobilized machinery and began blacktopping on March 18, 2025.
They completed approximately 300 meters of roadwork, with the intention of ensuring proper and timely progress as demanded by the protesters.

KSCU and KYO have committed to monitoring the repairs to guarantee quality work and prompt completion and they also appreciated the NHIDCL for swift action, Nunese Sale, Former speaker of Southern Angami Students Union informed.
Earlier, The Khuzama Students' Care Union (KSCU), supported by over 400 students and community members, organized a protest on March 11, 2025, in Khuzama village, Nagaland, demanding immediate repairs to the deteriorating NH-29.
Local organizations like the Khuzama Youth Organization (KYO) and Khuzama Women Society also joined the protest, raising concerns over the prolonged neglect of the highway.
