Dimapur, May 31 (MExN): The officers and staff of Nagaland Hotels Limited today bids adieu to its Managing Director, Taku Jamir at a farewell function held at conference hall of Hotel Saramati, Dimapur. Taku Jamir is the first full fledged MD of NHL and has been in service for the past six years. He is now returning to the parent department, Nagaland Industrial Development Corporation Limited.
Deputy General Manager of Hotel Saramati, Mrs. Ahebu, speaking at the farewell function said that Taku Jamir provided a visionary leadership to steer and transform NHL to what it is today. She also shared that with his leadership, NHL has experienced a more transparent and accountable system and also a vast improvement in coordination and communication. His tenure as a first full fledged MD has been a very constructive period; she said and added that his firm emphasis on hospitality, team spirit and principles such as discipline, sincerity and humility will continue to guide us even in the days to come. “Looking back the past years, I would definitely say that it has been a very progressive phase of development for Hotel Saramati in particular and Hotel Japfu too,” she said.
Taku Jamir, in his farewell speech said that when he first took over this assignment, there were not many takers for the job because of the challenges it provided, but now there are many. He felt that this reflects the fact that NHL is growing, and also added that to be secure for the future, every individual must grow and that when we are not secure, our standard perceived by others will not be satisfactory. Commenting on the hospitality sector in Nagaland, Taku opined that people definitely in future will rush to come and said that NHL has achieved an enviable stage of standard. “Together, we have achieved this, and we should feel proud to be looked upon as a benchmark of hospitality quality,” he told the gathering. “The vision that has been developed, a roadmap for development of NHL has been set, now it is in your hands how to go about it,” he said. He also urged NHL staff to give their best under the new leadership and their cooperation as they have always done with him.
Further, speeches were also delivered by General Manager of NHL, Sutsung LKR, and Deputy General Manger of Hotel Japfu Subrorol. The function was chaired by deputy manager of Hotel Saramati and a farewell song was presented by F&B Service Section of Hotel Saramati.
