NHP conduct training on first aid and emergencies & relief

Dimapur, January 18 (MExN): Two days training on ‘fact of life’ and ‘first aid & emergencies and relief’ was organised by Nagaland Health Project (NHP) on January 14 and 15 at Directorate of Health & Family Welfare, Kohima, for SPMU and DPMU staff of NHP.   The training started with short address by Dr. Nandira Changkija, Principal Director, DH&FW & Project Director, NHP, where she requested the participant to learn and equip themselves on first aid procedure as with the ever growing incidents on accidents, natural disaster etc. the need to understand first aid techniques becomes important.   The resource persons for ‘fact of life’ were Dr. Rose Chakhesang and Dr. Thomas Keppen. Dr. Chibenthung Kithan was the resource person for ‘fist aid & emergencies & relief”. A practical demonstration on first aid and emergencies was also imparted by trained personnel from Directorate of Home guards and civil defence.  

Dr. Atoshe Sema, Addl Project Director, NHP, in his concluding remarks thanked the resource persons, participants and personnel from home guards for participating in the training program. He said that training on first aid for health workers was an innovative idea by NHP where the project intends to train one person each from project village sites and frontline health workers (ASHA/AWW/ANMs).   Nagaland Health Project (NHP) is being implemented by the Directorate of Health & Family Welfare which is being funded by World Bank. The project will be implemented in 500 selected villages and 177 health centres across all the districts of Nagaland.
