NHPS and Sakra World Hospital sign MoU for advanced medical care

Kohima, April 17 (MExN): Sakra World Hospital (SWH), Bengaluru, and the Nagaland Health Protection Society (NHPS), registered under the State Government of Nagaland, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to provide ‘advanced medical care’ in the state.

The agreement aims to enhance accessible medical services for government employees, pensioners, and indigenous inhabitants or permanent residents of Nagaland under the Chief Minister Health Insurance Scheme (CMHIS-EP), according to a press release.

Sakra World Hospital, a Japanese company operated by Secom and Toyota Tsusho Corporation, is billed as India’s first multinational hospital with 100% Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). As an Empanelled Health Care Provider (EHCP), SWH will extend its advanced medical care and specialized treatments to beneficiaries of the CMHIS-EP scheme.

The hospital will offer a wide range of medical services, including high-end diagnostics, advanced surgical procedures, and multidisciplinary clinical expertise. The scheme will ensure that beneficiaries receive quality treatment without financial burden.

As per the release, Yuichi Nagano, Managing Director of SWH Bengaluru said that Sakra is committed to delivering technologically advanced care to the people of Nagaland, ensuring they receive timely and effective treatment through CMHIS-EP.

Deputy Managing Director Naoya Matsumi also emphasised that this agreement is a step toward creating sustainable healthcare and giving access to quality medical care while Group COO Lovekesh Phasu, stated that the empanelment aims to set a benchmark for affordable and specialised care, ensuring that all patients receive the treatment they deserve, regardless of their financial circumstances.

The 350-bed SWH, located in Marathahalli on the Outer Ring Road in Bengaluru, offers a range of medical treatments, including emergency and trauma care, cardiac sciences, digestive and hepatobiliary sciences, renal science, rehabilitation, orthopedics, women’s and children’s health, and neurosciences. The hospital, the release added,  also features 15 integrated modular operation theaters (OTs) with cutting-edge technology, allowing video input from multiple sources to be recorded, saved, and displayed during surgeries.
