DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 28 (MExN): The Nagaland Private Doctors Association (NPDA) on Wednesday expressed disappointment over the failure of the Nagaland Health Protection Scheme (NHPS) to make substantial payments despite assurances that the issue would be resolved by February 28.
In a statement, the NPDA said "despite assurances from the NHPS that this matter would be resolved by 28 February, 2025, no substantial payments have been made."
The association cited a meeting held on February 19 between the NPDA and NHPS, during which commitments were made to address the issue. However, it said the lack of action had left them feeling "deeply betrayed and disrespected, as our continued cooperation during this challenging time has been met with inaction."
"It is unacceptable that we are being taken advantage of, and we can no longer tolerate this situation," the NPDA said. The association also cautioned that "the NHPS/FGI should not exploit the interim order of the Court, as the Court's duty is to uphold justice and will duly consider our legitimate grievances."
Reaffirming its commitment to fairness and justice, the NPDA urged authorities to "act with the urgency and integrity that this matter demands."
