NHRA demands to penalize all involved in fuel racket

Dimapur, July 12 (MExN): The Nagaland Hotel & Restaurant Association (NHRA) has extended support to ACAUT Nagaland regarding the fuel adulteration racket the latter unearthed recently.

In a press release, NHRA appealed to the authority concerned to book and penalize those involved in the fuel racket. It demanded that all the properties – buildings and other immoveable properties – the accused have acquired at the cost of the public should be confiscated and used for development of the state.

The authority, it added, should not hesitate to issue arrest warrants and bring the kingpins wherever they may be evading arrest. Further, the Association demanded that all those involved in the illegal issue of licenses/ stockiest should also be apprehended.

“This racket is not only confined to the towns or cities but the whole state and beyond and this could be only a tip of the iceberg,” it stated. “The public have suffered in general and the poor have been greatly deprived in particular for the last several years. The artificial shortage of SK oil and price escalation is the creation/handiwork of such unscrupulous, greedy cheats.”

Meanwhile, the release asserted that politicians and bureaucrats who assume S.K oil as an extra perk depriving the public should also be penalized and judged with the same yardstick as “they are indirectly encouraging and protecting such fuel mafias and corruption to thrive.”

The NHRA also called upon all NGOs to stand united in rooting out evil and evil doers and extend unconditional support to ACAUT.
