Set on an approximate area of 4.5 acres, Niathu Resort at 7th Mile, Dimapur has introduced ‘Niathu Machang’ with the objective of showcasing the rich Naga cuisine to guests and tourists for an authentic Naga food experience.
Interacting with media persons at the Machang on July 13, General Manager, Niathu Group & Niathu Management, Anthony Nilli Chasteü informed that only Naga cuisines with locally sourced products were served at Niathu Machang. “By using only local organic food products, we are trying to promote Naga cuisine,” he added.
Anthony also informed that the price of various cuisines were almost the same as that of other restaurants in the city. The Machang was designed by Nagaland Bamboo Resource Centre and all products used in its construction and other products were sourced from the same Centre.
He said Niathu Resort was quite sensitive on wastage of food and hygiene and the management was also trying to minimize usage of plastic.
Apart from buying all food products from local people, the management also buys artefacts from locals to promote their entrepreneurship, Anthony added.
The artefacts are used as decorative pieces at Niathu Resort and also as departure gifts for guests. Niathu Machang also offers customized food as per orders of the customers besides home delivery services.
The kitchen team is led by Asano, finalist of Naga Chef Season 1. Niathu Machang was introduced on November 30, 2017.
