NIDA puts agitation on hold for a week

Kohima, July 18 (MExN): With the Government of Nagaland invoking the Nagaland Essential Services (Maintenance) Act, 1978, the proposed Nagaland In-Service Doctors’ Association (NIDA) agitation demanding the review of the cabinet decision on the superannuation issue of government doctors has been “kept in suspended animation for 1 week with effect from July 19.”

In a press release on Monday, the Media Cell, NIDA Core Committee on Superannuation informed on that the agitation was called owing to a lack of response from the Government even after a gap of 3 months. However, as the association received a notification from the Government in the 11th hour, the agitation has been kept in suspended animation for 1 week, during which the members will study the notification thoroughly and get back to the Government for any clarification and rectification for wider acceptance to the NIDA fraternity, the release stated. Further, the Association expressed gratitude to all the organisations for their support in the various media platforms to its legitimate demands.
