NIELIT promotes tech learning among students through SAMARTH initiative

Dimapur, March 8 (MExN): In a significant step towards promoting technology-driven learning among school students, the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), Dimapur, conducted the first-ever SAMARTH training programme and distributed Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT) kits to students of Christian Higher Secondary School (CHSS) and Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Dimapur on March 7.

The five-day training programme covered key areas including Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Digital Hardware and Cyber Security.

Altogether 391 AIoT kits were distributed to the participating schools, including 208 kits to CHSS and 183 kits to GHSS. In addition, one School Innovation Kit each was provided to the two institutions. Certificates were also awarded to the participating students. The schools were nominated by the Department of School Education, Government of Nagaland.

Through the SAMARTH Project supported by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, NIELIT aims to strengthen digital literacy, innovation and technology-based learning among school students in Nagaland.

Officials informed that similar training programmes will be conducted in more schools across the state in the coming months.
