The Angami Students’ Union (ASU) along with organizing committee of 21st Naga Students' Federation (NSF) Martyr's Memorial Trophy 2021 has conducted a night trial football match this evening at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima for the forthcoming tournament.

Organizing Committee convenor Dievi Yano expressed satisfaction with the overall facility and thanked the contractor, department of youth resources & sports and the state government in general for such international standard Astro turf pitch and floodlight at the stadium.

Yano said the inaugural match of the tournament will be played at 4:30 PM (Night match) on October 9. Thereafter, night matches will start from quarter finals till grand finale.

The Trophy is organised in honour and in remembrance of the two comrades Lt. Kekuojalie Sachü of Kohima Village and Lt. Vikhozo Yhoshü of Kigwema Village, who were victims to the indiscriminate firings of the Armed Police from Alichen, when the students' fraternity, on the 20th of March 1986, were on a peaceful duty call to the extension of Disturbed Area Belt from 5 KM along the Indo Myanmar Border and against the induction of Indian Police Service (IPS) cadres into the state of Nagaland.

Forms have been made available in Kohima at Sports Paradise, Ruluo Market Keziekie, Sports World, main town, KK Motors Royal Enfield, High School, NSF Office, ASU Office, below AIR Station, Falcon Corner at Medziphema, G-Sports in Chumukedima and Kiran Sports Dimapur. Last date of form submission is October 6.
