NII project to be launched in Nagaland

Kohima, January 5 (MExN): Along with six other states, Gujarat, Karnakata, Chandigarh, Kerala, Pondichery, Uttrakhand in the Country, the State of Nagaland in coordination with the Ministry of Electronics & IT, Government of India, New Delhi had also taken up the pilot project for National Information Infrastructure (NII) project at Peren District and the project is now ready for commissioning on January 6 at 11:00 am.  

“This project will be providing three Wireless Broadband Internet Services to each Administrative Hqs and all recognized Villages under Peren District and once it is successful it will replicated in other districts in the State,” KD Vizo, ITS, Commissioner & Secretary (IT).  

The inaugural function will be graced by TR Zeliang, Chief Minister of Nagaland as chief guest and P. Paiwang Konyak, Minister, IT&C, Transport & Civil Aviation and Border Affairs will be the guest of honour. The programme will be chaired by respected Chief Secretary, Nagaland and Joint Secretary, Ministry of Electronics & IT, New Delhi will represent the Government of India.
