NIIT-Unity College sign MoU for skill development

Dimapur, May 26 (MExN): NIIT conducted career guidance seminar on Digital Transformation & IT & Banking for career aspirants on May 25 in collaboration with and at Unity College, Dimapur.  

An MoU was also signed between the two institutions for skill development of students for next 3 years, informed a press release from NIIT.  

Rahul Keshav Patwardhan, CEO, NIIT Limited was the resource person, while KT Sukhalu, IAS, Vigilance Commissioner, Nagaland was the chief guest on the occasion.  

According to the release, the career guidance helped students understand various skills required for a successful career in today’s fast-growing world and various job opportunities available post completion of the graduation. More than 1200 college and school students & unemployed youth attended the session, besides the NIITians, IT professionals & well wishers.  

Sharing about Digital Transformation, Patwardhan said, “Latest technologies like Internet of Things, Big Data, cloud, and software defined world, will bring disruptions and will change the way we live and work. However, there is a strong role to be played by government, corporates, associations, academia to develop digital infrastructure and ecosystem. NIIT is taking a leadership role towards building competencies for the future to meet the requirements of Industry 4.0.”  

Sukhalu exhorted the Naga youth to acquire vocational trainings and tap opportunities in the private sector. Govt. jobs are saturated, he stated. “It is the need of the hour to be self-employed & fend for oneself. With the govt. providing so many opportunities for tribal & underprivileged section of the society, unemployed youth must rise to the requirements of the local & national industries he shared.”
