He recalled the memorable achievements made by the pioneers of education in Wokha District Kiramwati and Father Loria at a time when there were no facilities available and wondered why we are unable to perform well when blessed with better facilities. Towards this, Kikon encouraged the Principal to follow the footsteps of these pioneers and bring laurels to Bhandari and Nagaland.

He expressed hope that the successful functioning of the NIOS at Bhandari would solve half of the issues related with unemployment as continuing of education by the dropouts would empower. He cited the example of his own life and stated that though he came from a missionary family with a humble background, his education helped him to be what he is today.

In this regard, he urged all the NGOs and the people of Bhandari to take ownership of the centre and ensure that each and every dropout student from Bhandari gets enrolled at the centre and continue their further studies successfully.

Further expressing disappointment and anguish over the nil and poor results of many Govt. High Schools, Kikon observed that the issue involves multiple factors and stated that it needs to be solved through the dedicated efforts of all stakeholders.

During the function, the MLA also acknowledged the presence of outgoing ADC Orenthung Lotha and incoming ADC Nchumbemo Odyuo. While extending welcome to the new ADC on behalf of people of his constituency, he requested the incoming ADC to contribute his best to the people of Bhandari.

Kikon also fondly remembered the selfless services rendered by the outgoing ADC Orenthung particularly in maintaining harmony and peace in the area and making himself available to the people during all working days.
