
Dimapur, October 23 (MExN): An organization under the nomenclature of Nagaland Indigenous People’s Forum (NIPF) will be launched officially at Dimapur on October 26. The launching programme at Don Bosco School Compound, Dimapur will be graced by the Chief Convener of NEIPF.
NIPF in a press statement issued by its Convener, Pius Lotha and Press Secretary, Richard Haolai said that the “Nagaland Indigenous People’s Forum is a branch of the North East Indigenous People's Forum (NEIPF), a non-political organization formed for the cause of the indigenous people of the state.”
While stating that it is not affiliated to any political party or any other organization(s), the Forum said, “The Indigenous People’s Forum’s approach is to maintain and preserve the identity, customs, culture, and traditions of the indigenous people who are within the state of Nagaland.”
It also said that the approach of the NEIPF is to let the indigenous people of all the North Eastern states to uphold their tradition, culture, and identity which have been followed by all Indigenous people since time immemorial.
It further stated that the NEIPF has been fighting against the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) and also representing the indigenous people of the North East India in the world Indigenous People's Organizations at Geneva and raising the issue of the Indigenous people's preservation and protection of our identity.
The NIPF therefore, invites “every Indigenous people of the state to participate in the movement for preserving our custom, culture, traditions and protection of our lands, for a better society in Nagaland.”
