Kohima, July 5 (MExN): A delegation from the Nagaland Indigenous Peoples Forum (NIPF), led by President Dr T Lima Jamir, General Secretary Kikheto Sumi, Finance Secretary Arila Sangtam, and Executive Member Joseph Mukhu, met with Nagaland Lok Sabha MP Supongmeren Jamir at the Congress Bhavan in Kohima on July 5.

The forum raised key concerns, including the implementation of the Inner Line Permit (ILP) and the issue of benami land transactions by non-indigenous individuals in the state, stated a press release received here. They urged the MP to ensure that no individual or political group obstructs the smooth enforcement of ILP in Dimapur, Chümoukedima, and Niuland.

MP Supongmeren Jamir gave the delegation a patient hearing and assured them that he would use all “power is in his discretion” to safeguard the rights and interests of Nagaland’s indigenous people.
