Kiphire, November 27 (MExN): Twenty-two students and two teachers from Kiphire, Wokha, Phek and Kohima districts of Nagaland undertook a National Integration Tour (NIT) to Lucknow, Kolkata and Guwahati by Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) from November 12 to 25.
During the tour, the students visited various institutes and sites of cultural and historical importance, had an audience with the Governor of Uttar Pradesh, GOC Madhya UP Sub Area and GOC-in-C Eastern Command, all of whom encouraged the students to work hard and to be role models for the society.
The flagging in ceremony was organized at Kohima on November 25 wherein Deputy IG IGAR (N) encouraged the students to utilize the exposure and experience gained during the visit and to be channels for a better Nagaland.
The educational and motivational tour was organized with an aim to provide the children with an insight into the rich heritage, diverse blend and the development going on in various parts of the country.
