Dimapur, July 14 (MExN): The Niuland Area Citizen Forum (NACF) has expressed grievances on the pathetic state of road between the 4th Mile Bridge to Niuland town, ADC HQ.
The Forum in a press release issued by its President and Information and Publicity Secretary said that for the last couple of years, the road has been almost impassable and has further become deplorable due to rain, making the travel even worse with numerous craters and presence of large boulders.
“This road segment connects and serves large number of villages and towns covering portion of Dimapur and Wokha districts and at times serves as an important bypass diversion to Kohima Capital via Zhadima. With the pandemic hard hitting the masses with skyrocketing fuel expenses the common people using this road have been left high and dry with essential commodities costs rising and travelling to Dimapur becoming a nightmare even on medical emergencies,” NACF stated.
While requesting the authority concerned to immediately take action to improve the road condition,” the Forum also cautioned “to protest democratically” if left with “no option.”
