Awareness programme on road safety held at Town Hall, Niuland on January 29.

Niuland, January 29 (MExN): In commemoration of National Road Safety Month being celebrated from January 1 to 31, an awareness programme on road safety was held under the theme “Parwaah Karenge, Surakshit Rahenge” at Town Hall, Niuland on January 29.
A press release received here stated that the Deputy Commissioner, Niuland, Sara S Jamir presented a keynote address where she emphasised on measures that are to be taken to avoid road accidents and encouraged everyone to abide by the traffic rules and regulations.
Two sessions were conducted, where various Departments gave presentations on several relevant topics such as Good Samaritan, hit and run case, enforcement of traffic laws and rules under Motor Vehicle Act, Registration of vehicles, road safety and training on first aid treatment, CPR, Dos and Don’ts at the time of accident.
The programme was followed by free eye check-up led by the CMO, Niuland and provision of free first aid kits to 50 drivers by the District Road Safety Committee.
