Niuland, November 20 (MExN): The District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) Niuland in collaboration with the District Administration Niuland hosted a consultative meeting bringing together stakeholders to deliberate on critical issues surrounding child welfare and protection at Niuland Town Hall on November 20.
Chaired by Kilitoli, PO-NIC (DCPU), the gathering witnessed an ensemble of experts sharing insights. The event commenced with welcome address by Kughakali Achumi, DCPO Niuland. In the keynote address Deputy Commissioner Niuland Sara S Jamir, emphasised the imperative of collective action in safeguarding child rights.
The key presentations were made by police Department: Shed light on measures to ensure child safety and security; Medical Department: Discussed healthcare initiatives for vulnerable children; Education Department: Focused on inclusive education and child development;
Child Welfare Committee: Shared experiences in rehabilitation and child protection; Juvenile Justice Board: Elaborated on legal frameworks for juvenile care; Child Care Institution: Presented best practices in childcare and support; Child Helpline: Highlighted emergency response mechanisms for children in distress.
A special presentation on Mission Vatsalya by Allobo K, LCPO (DCPU), underscored the initiative’s objectives and strategies for child welfare. The consultative meet concluded with closing remarks by S Boloka Jimo, SW (DCPU), who acknowledged the participants’ dedication and emphasized the importance of sustained collaboration, stated a press note received here.
