NJCF reaffirms Nov 30 event, urges public to gather in unity

KOHIMA, NOVEMBER 29 (MExN): The Nagaland Joint Christian Forum (NJCF) on Saturday said the scheduled visit of Rev. Franklin Graham to Nagaland has been cancelled due to “unforeseen visa-related circumstances.” Expressing disappointment, the Forum said it was saddened by the development and questioned the reason behind the denial of his visa.

The NJCF, however, said the programme organised in partnership with the Kohima Baptist Pastors’ Fellowship (KBPF) will go ahead as scheduled.

Appealing to people of all tribes, races and denominations, the Forum urged the public to gather at the IG Stadium on Sunday evening, November 30, for “a time of worship and celebration.” It called upon everyone to respond in the spirit of oneness and unity.

Clarifying its position, the NJCF said it has “no hidden agenda other than to worship and celebrate our faith as enshrined in the Constitution.” It added that responsible citizens must come together to pray and intercede for the well-being of the people and the nation “in a time such as this.” The Forum said the development should serve as a wake-up call and urged citizens to unite in humility and share God’s goodness with genuine love for one another. “Let us come together to worship God in unity and leave the rest to Him,” it added.
