Dimapur, April 4 (MExN): The Nagaland Joint Christian Forum (NJCF) conveyed Resurrection Sunday greetings, urging believers to move beyond mere profession of faith to becoming a forgiving community. “May we become a forgiving community and not just be professing Christians,” NJCF President Rev Dr N Paphino and Secretary Rev Moses Murry said in a statement.
The Forum emphasised that the gospel is not only about salvation but also about daily conduct, loving neighbours, and doing good to others. It called on Nagas to practice love and work towards a society of peace and justice.
Appealing to communities locked in conflict, the NJCF asked them to build bridges and establish points of contact for negotiation instead of trading hatred and self-justification.
“For much too long we have taken things into our own hands, trying to do things in our own way and in our own wisdom. We have made reconciliation a business,” the forum said, adding that true peace comes from knowing and doing God’s will.
The Forum prayed for the peace of the world and within local communities, urging all to seek forgiveness from God and from each other.
