Nkialwa Students’ Union felicitates successful students and constable recruits

Peren, May 2 (MExN): The Nkialwa Students’ Union (NHB) organized a felicitation programme at Rehangki Conference Hall, Jalukie Town, to honour successful candidates of the HSLC and HSSLC examinations, along with five candidates who were recently recruited as constables through the police recruitment examination.

The programme commenced with an invocation prayer led by Kesoga Samding, Speaker of NHB, while the event was compered by Isasile Siarau.

In his presidential address, NHB President Keyinreulu congratulated the successful students and newly recruited constables. He described Nkialwa as a land of blessings and achievements, proudly recalling that a former Chief Minister hailed from the village. He also expressed satisfaction that the academic performance of students from Nkialwa continues to improve each year.

Highlighting the union’s initiatives, he mentioned the Cherry Plantation Project, Students’ Union Prayer Day, NHB Academic Award, and the Cleanest Colony Award. He noted that while the NHB Academic Award was previously given to students scoring 80 percent and above, the benchmark was raised to 90 percent from last year due to increasing academic excellence among students.

A special musical presentation by Kenoyi added vibrancy to the programme.

Special guest Haito Zeliang, NPF Working President of 7-Peren A/C, in his address, quoted, “You will never reach your destination if you stop and throw stones at every dog that barks.” He advised students to stay focused and avoid distractions while pursuing their goals. Congratulating both the students and the constable recruits, he encouraged them to remain determined and strive for excellence in today’s competitive world.

He further urged the students to stay rooted in their culture, traditions, language, land, and history, emphasizing the importance of preserving identity and heritage. He also reminded them to remain humble, expressing that their achievements mark only the beginning of greater accomplishments ahead, and stressed the importance of pursuing quality education alongside quantity.

Former Chairman of Nkialwa Village, Ipungba, also addressed the gathering, encouraging students to work diligently and keep faith at the center of their lives.

The vote of thanks was delivered by Keyilungchi Rangkau, while the Youth Director of Nkialwa Baptist Church, Ichidau Rangkau, pronounced a blessing over the students.

During the programme, this year’s Nkialwa Students’ Union Academic Award (NHBAA), comprising a certificate and a cash prize of ₹5,000, was presented to Kidotei Nren in recognition of her outstanding academic achievement.

The programme concluded with a group photo session attended by the successful candidates, union leaders, special guests, and members of the community.
