Kohima, March 19 (MExN): The Nagaland Legislative Assembly Secretariat organised a felicitation programme for Er. Vikho-o Yhoshü on being elected as the Speaker of the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly and welcomed him to the Office of the Speaker on March 19.
A press release issued by N. Benjamin Newmai, Commissioner & Secretary stated that the programme was graced by the presence of the Er Vikho-o Yhoshü’s wife and his entourage, besides the officers and staff of Nagaland Legislative Assembly. The programme commenced with an invocation prayer by Rev. Kuzierang Thou, State Chaplain under the Chairperson, Pangamla, Secretary.
Felicitation and Welcome Address on behalf of the officers & staff of Nagaland Legislative Assembly was delivered by N. Benjamin Newmai, Commissioner & Secretary. He assured of the cooperation and support of the officers & staff to the newly elected Speaker. Short Speech of felicitation and welcome was also given by I. Khoneyi Chang, President, Nagaland Assembly Secretariat Staff Association.
The Speaker in his address thanked God for enabling him to occupy this very prestigious and high office of responsibility in the State. He exhorted the officers & staff of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly to believe in team work, cohesiveness and human development. He expressed confidence that with the existing team of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly Secretariat, he will be able to discharge his functions successfully.
