
KOHIMA, FEBRUARY 2 (MExN): Speaker of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly, Sharingain Longkumer, attended the 4th Literature Festival held on February 1 in Kokrajhar, Assam. Accompanied by Pramod Boro, Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC), and other dignitaries from around the world, the Speaker appreciated the initiatives led by the BTC, notably the conceptualization of the Northeast’s first Literature Festival.
Longkumer lauded the efforts of CEM Boro and his team in uniting diverse cultures and ethnic groups through this event, while also fostering progress and peace in the region. He emphasized the importance of creating a unified platform for the region’s tribes, echoing the message of Nagaland’s Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio, who advocates for "Peace for development and development for peace."
The Speaker also expressed his gratitude to Assam’s Chief Minister, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, for his continued support of the aspirations of the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR).
