Kohima, June 3 (DIPR): Nagaland Legislative Assembly Speaker Kiyanilie Peseyie on June 3 inaugurated the main gate at ‘Y’ Junction, New Assembly Complex. Exhorting the Assembly staff during the function, Speaker Kiyanilie called upon them to work sincerely with a spirit of unity amongst them. “Whenever we approach the Government they never refuse our proposals and extend all the facilities in a special way, so we have to remember, what our contribution is,” Kiyanilie reminded.
He further impressed upon the employees of Assembly Secretariat to work together as a family by respecting one another, by respecting their elders and by obeying the orders of the Government. Further, the Speaker on behalf of the Assembly staff and on his behalf expressed gratitude to the Deputy Speaker NLA, Ralanthung for his personal initiatives taken in constructing the gate. He also thanked Engineer Nakro, for completing the work flawlessly.
NLA Secretary, A.E. Lotha said that it has been a long felt desire to construct the main gate at ‘Y’ Junction, New Assembly Complex and expressed joy to see it become a reality and termed it as a great achievement. The Secretary NLA thanked the Deputy Speaker Nagaland, Housing department specially the Executive Engineer (Assembly Complex) and his team, contractor, officers and staff of Assembly Secretariat for their support and co-operation, because of which the work could be executed on time.
Giving a brief report on the construction of the main gate at New Assembly Complex, Executive Engineer, PWD (H) Er. K. Nakro, New Capital Complex Division Kohima said that the security barricade and fencing at ‘Y’ Junction was constructed at a cost of Rs. 25 lakhs. The conceptual drawings and structural design for the work was done by the Housing Department where the design was first approved technically and the consent of the user department was obtained later. The project has two parts (i) construction of Security barricade at ‘Y’ Junction amounting to Rs. 18.14 lakhs and (ii) construction of security fencing at ‘Y’ junction amounting to Rs. 6.86 lakhs. Engineer Nakro further viewed that construction of the gate would provide security to the New Assembly complex and would also regulate entry of unauthorized persons/vehicles into the complex.
Earlier, State Chaplain Rev. K. Luruo said the dedicatory prayer. Advisor IT & C, Vikho-o Yhoshu, Advisor Sericulture and Co-operation department, Azheto Zhimomi, officers and staff of Assembly Secretariat attended the gate inaugural programme.
