NLSF takes ‘fair election campaign’ to Jotsoma

Kohima, April 7 (MExN): Nagaland Law Students’ Federation (NLSF) conducted its ‘fair election campaign’ on the theme ‘One man, one vote’ at Jotsoma village with Kezhokhoto Savi as guest speaker.  

Savi affirmed that today Naga society needs a reformation and for such reformation every citizen has to change their mindset. “It’s high time to realize that we need a people friendly legislator who can walk the talk against corruption and even beyond,” he stated, according to a press release from NLSF. The speaker also maintained that one’s vote can make changes so every citizen must be wise enough to choose the right person.  

Yuwang, NLSF Vice President meanwhile stressed the important role of village councils during election and requested them to be fair and just. Ameto, NLSF Executive Member also pointed out the malpractices prevalent in Nagaland during elections and the penalties for such acts as mentioned in People’s Representative Act, 1951.  

The campaign has reached Phesama, Nerhepheza, Jotsoma and Tyranus Boys Hostel Jakhama under Kohima district so far, informed the release issued by Information & Publicity Secretary Roland Zeliang. Stating that the response from every village is positive, NLSF has requested every citizen to make some changes in the upcoming election by being fair and just.
