Recipients
Muno Shiu
: Muno Shiu is an artiste from the Khiamniungan tribe residing at Dimapur.

So far, he has released nine of his original songs on different online platforms.

He was ranked amongst the top five in Alternative Music of Songdew (India) in 2017. He is Indihut's most promising artist 2017 and also a finalist of Acoustic Heroes 2016, which was held at Guwahati. He is also an Awardee for his original song "Bloody Tuesday" at the 2nd B&K Memorial Award 2020. He has also nominated for the Nagaland Best Composers Awards. He will soon be coming up with an EP entitled "Out of Darkness."

He derives his influences from the band 1975' and from genres such as Pop, Indie Rock and Alternative Rock

Imnainla Jamir: Imnainla Jamir hails from Mokokchung town and started playing the electric guitar when she was only 12 years old.

She later developed a keen interest towards the essence and the possibilities that an electric guitar could provide.

For the moment, she just wants to soak in, absorb and learn everything that is being taught by her mentors; polish her skills to the fullest. She hopes to, one day, be able to impart what she has learned to others, being a music mentor herself.

She also wants to set an example to the rest that “if you follow your dreams with hard work and keen perseverance and acknowledging the Good Lord in all your ways, everything is possible!

Kilang Jamir: From Mokokchung town, Kilang developed a nerve problem and involuntary movements from early childhood. Despite medical treatments from various parts of India, his condition has not seen much improvement leaving him in despair and ultimately, dropping out of school due to mockeries and ridicules.

He loves playing the guitar, but could not pursue it as a career as his parents could not support him. On one of his despairing days, a musical piece by Yiruma called "Kiss the Rain” brought inspiration and a change in his taste for music.

In 2015, his parents finally agreed to send him to Hill Praise Academy, Dimapur to undergo training in piano. It was there that he first started composing his own music and wrote the piece 'Broken Mirror' which is based on his journey of life.

About NMC & presentation to upcoming talented musicians of Nagaland
NMC was formed during 2009 by a group of like-mined musicians of the '80s.

Having gone through so many obstacles themselves in the arena of music, especially with the almost non-existence of proper instruments, sound systems, lack of internet facilities, and the high cost of imported equipments as India was then yet to make reformations in its foreign trade policies, they got together so that they can lend a helping hand to upcoming musicians in the state, particularly those from poorer income families.

NMC is a registered music society and has built up good symbiotic relationships with Task Force for Music & Arts (TaFMA).

NMC had its first mega concert in partnership with TaFMA during 25th and 26th October, 2019 - a Tribute Concert for musician friends “who have left us.”

This year, in line with its objectives, NMC organised a programme on “Presentation to Upcoming Talented Musicians of Nagaland 2020” where three young musicians have been gifted with instruments as per their talents.

Over the years, NMC undertakes music festivals within and outside the state, promote a variety of music genres, promote talented and upcoming musicians in Nagaland, provide guidance and assistance to upcoming musicians to further their careers and facilitate manual dexterity to set up and control production equipment such as sound, lighting, staging etc.
