Dimapur, June 7 (MExN): The Nagaland Medicine Dealers Association today expressed appreciation to what it termed as the decision of State Governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi for “issuing a comprehensive notification” by the Home Department on May 19 with stringent directives in removal of toll gates and illegal collection of money at check gates throughout the state.
The setting up of control room manned with 24x7 helpline numbers and setting up of inspection teams in all the districts with prominent signages in all the check gates are truly commendable, the Association added in a press release.
“This move has helped us in frequent and fast mobility of essential goods including medicines and life saving drugs across the state,” it said.
The NDMA further maintained that the action has resulted in the downfall of prices of the essential and non-essential commodities.
In public interest, the Association further appealed against ‘resetting-up’ such gates and to support the state government by strengthening its hands and strictly opposing any kind of illegal collection at the gates.
“The NMDA has always stood beside the public for its interest and will keep serving people by reaching medicines in every corner of the state in every situation,” it added.
