NMHYO Kohima issues directives for View Point area

Kohima, July 16 (MExN): The New Minister's Hill Youth Organisation (NMHYO), Kohima, has issued a strong directive to curb public nuisance in the View Point area of New Minister’s Hill Colony, which it said has been plagued by “alcohol consumption, loitering, and immoral activities by unwanted elements for over a decade.”

In this regard, the NMHYO announced that any individual or group found consuming or possessing alcohol in public places within the area will be liable to a spot fine of `10,000.

Despite multiple press releases issued over the years, such activities continue to persist, causing serious concern among residents, it stated.

The Organisation further cautioned that CCTV surveillance has been installed in the View Point area and violators will not only face fines but may also have their identities made public through the media.

In serious cases, vehicles involved may be seized, it added.

The NMHYO, in coordination with the New Minister’s Hill Panchayat, emphasised that these measures are being strictly enforced in the interest of maintaining public order, safety, and peace in the locality. It also appealed for the cooperation of all residents and visitors.
