Dimapur, March 15 (MExN): Convenor of the National Movement for Old Pension Scheme (NMOPS) Dr Manjeet Singh Patel will be visiting Nagaland from March 15 to 17 to set up a committee to “establish the movement against NPS in Nagaland.” The committee has already been formed in Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, and Meghalaya.
In a press release received here on Wednesday, Patel informed that a meeting is scheduled on March 17 in Dimapur with employees of medical, forest, teaching and PWD departments. The NMOPS, he maintained, would start its movement for more than 20,000 NPS employees, while adding that it is committed to protect every NPS employee’s rights of guaranteed pension because NPS is a “market based scheme and creating problems for retirees.”
