NNagaDAO protest is kept in abeyance

DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 13 (MExN): On the intervention from Nagaland Chief Secretary, Pankaj Kumar, the Network of Nagaland Drugs and AIDS Organization (NNagaDAO) has decided to keep in abeyance their peaceful protest slated on February 15 in all the district headquarters. 

NNagaDAO president, Abou Mere in a press note informed that the chief secretary had convened an emergency meeting on February 12 at his official chamber to discuss the crisis and understand the organization’s concerns and grievances. 

According to the press note, the chief secretary gave a patient hearing to NNagaDAO’s grievances and assured to take immediate steps to expedite in resolving the crisis of HIV program in the State. 

The chief secretary assured he would take the matter and file personally and meet the Nagaland Chief Minister TR Zeliang on February 13 for necessary action, it stated. 

Following the meeting, the NNagaDAO said the peaceful protest will be kept in abeyance for the time being for the chief secretary to act and intervene. NNagaDAO however cautioned that if the matter is not resolved by the State government within a few days time, it will take own course of action for fulfillment of its democratic constitution and fundamental rights.
