Dimapur, April 23 (MExN): “Brigadier” Seisou of the NNC along with five members has joined the NSCN-IM. The new members joined, handing over one each of M21, SLR, US carbine, .303, .22 rifles and two Mark-3 rifles, two 9MMs, eight hand-grenades and more than 1000 rounds of ammunitions, a note from the NSCN-IM MIP stated. Appreciating the NNC functionaries for joining the “mainstream”, the note asserted to serve the Naga cause “in the corrective perspective with common united vision.”
A separate MIP not stated that during the ‘welcome function,’ “Brig.” Seisou, “Commander, 5th Brigade,’ had joined the organization following the ‘peace and reconciliation’ call made by NSCN-IM chairman Isak Chishi Swu. The five other cadres were “Lt” Kho-o, “Sgt. Maj” Bipelo, “Lance Corporal” Thebuto, “Pvt.” Rukozhoyi and “Pvt.” Kukhrulo.
Also, the Imphal Free Press reported that six activists of the NNC led by one brigadier of the outfit and five cadres of NSCN (K), altogether 11 cadres with 13 different types of weapons, have left their respective organizations and joined the NSCN (IM).
The agency quoted the convener of the Zeilad Region, GPRN, NSCN (IM) as informing that six activists of the NNC led by “brigadier” Chici Thapa joined the NSCN (IM) with nine weapons. The weapons were one US carbine, one SLR, one D/14 Japan make, one M-21 semi rifles and five action rifles.
The five NSCN (K) cadres also joined the outfit with two AK-56 rifles, an M-21 semi rifle and a G-3 rifle, he was quoted as informing.
They joined the outfit on April 19 last and a reception function of their joining NSCN (IM) was held yesterday at general headquarter of the outfit at Phek district of Nagaland, it was added.
